Say my buddy has me under his friend list as " KING". Now on this same account i have a character named "Queen". I choose that i dont like the name KING. so i delete it. 24 hours later someone takes the name KING. Will my buddy have the new guy under his friend list or will it be me as Queen?

it will be you unless he deletes KING of his friends list and then re-adds it after it is taken by someone else. (98% sure)

What Eragon said, I'm pretty sure that the friends list goes by some account number or something so mix up like these dont happen.

I currently have a friend in my Friends list as a name that no longer exists. Just because the name is deleted does not mean that the Friends list loses that entry. As stated, it will remain in your Friends list. So, if your friend 'KING' deletes the character and makes a new character named 'PRINCE', your Friends list will show PRINCE (KING) when he is logged on. Even though KING is no longer in use by him, it will be registered correctly as his account for your Friends list.

I have a friend that I added to my friend's list about a year ago, he got banned and namelocked for having an "inappropriate name".

Needless to say, he is still on my friend's list as that name, and nothing catastrophic occurred when both me and my other friend took turns using his old name.

I have a friend who's primary was named something he hated. I added him to FL as that hated name.

When the option became available, he bought a name-change for the character. He's still in my friends list as that hated name, though.

So, when you add a name to your friends list, the program is just using as a label for a tag to an account ID it seems. Even if the character name changes, your friends list still points to the account ID associated with that name when you added it.

It's a great way to have ever-lasting screenshotable proof that a friend had a really dweeby name!

BUt then if the name shown is KIng and a new guy makes a name king, and you add him, wouldnt it be possible to have 2 Kings as friends?

but yeah probably you get 2 kings, either that or it tears a hole in the fabric of reality and the world ends.
